Post-Operative Rehabilitation in Manacor

Restore your mobility, your strength and your confidence after surgery with a safe rehabilitation plan adapted to you.

Recover with confidence after your surgery

After an operation, recovery matters as much as the surgery itself. Poorly planned rehabilitation can lengthen the process, cause setbacks or even limit your results. At Clínica FISARE we offer a service specialising in post-operative rehabilitation so you progress safely, quickly and effectively.

Our team combines precise assessment, advanced physiotherapy and close follow-up to help you restore mobility, strength and confidence. With techniques such as ultrasound, manual therapy, invasive physiotherapy and personalised exercise programmes, we make sure every session brings you closer to your goal: getting back to your normal life without limitations.

Operated on abroad, or back in Mallorca to recover? Bring your surgical report and we’ll work within your surgeon’s protocol. English spoken.

FAQ

What people ask us most about recovery after surgery

Earlier than most people think. Unless your surgeon says otherwise, the sooner work begins — adapted, of course, to the phase you’re in — the better the recovery goes.

In the first weeks it isn’t about «strengthening»: it’s about controlling inflammation, restoring movement within the permitted limits, stopping the muscles switching off, and keeping the rest of the body active. If you already have a surgery date, come beforehand: we can prepare the ground.

It depends entirely on the surgery. As a general guide: a knee replacement usually needs between 3 and 6 months to recover day-to-day function, with improvements continuing up to a year; an anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction usually requires between 9 and 12 months before returning to a pivoting sport; a rotator cuff repair involves several weeks of protection before load can be applied.

At the first visit, with your surgical report in front of us, we’ll give you a realistic timeframe for your specific case.

Yes, without any problem. We only need the surgical report and, if you have them, the guidelines or restrictions your surgeon gave you. The operation doesn’t need to have been done in Manacor or at any particular centre.

What does matter is that you bring us the information: knowing which technique was used and what limitations you have completely changes what we can do in each phase.

Some discomfort during and after exercise is expected and isn’t harmful. The practical reference we use is simple: discomfort that is tolerable during exercise, that settles when you finish, and that doesn’t leave you worse the next day, is acceptable.

If the pain is intense, if it increases session after session, or if the joint swells and doesn’t settle, the load needs adjusting. That adjustment is exactly our job, and it’s why follow-up matters.

It’s the work done before surgery: arriving in theatre with more strength, better mobility and knowing what you’re going to face.

The available evidence indicates that those who arrive better prepared tend to recover sooner and with fewer complications, particularly in knee and hip surgery. It also reduces uncertainty, which is no small thing: understanding the process before going through it changes how you face it.

In many cases yes, but it would be dishonest to promise you that up front without knowing your surgery, your age, your starting point and your sport.

What we do guarantee is the method: measurable goals, a documented loading progression and objective criteria before clearing you to return to sport — strength symmetry compared with the healthy side, functional tests, and confidence in the movement. Returning by the calendar rather than by criteria is one of the main causes of relapse.

It varies by phase. In the first weeks after surgery a higher frequency is usual, and as you progress and gain independence the sessions are spaced out and the weight shifts to what you do on your own between visits.

The aim is that you finish managing your recovery with a plan you know how to carry out by yourself.

Yes, and it isn’t negotiable. Post-operative restrictions — permitted ranges of movement, weight-bearing timelines, use of braces — depend on the surgical technique used and are set by whoever operated on you.

Our job is to develop the rehabilitation within that framework and, if we spot something that doesn’t fit or that raises doubts, to make contact or ask you to check before going any further.
